UNDER CONSTRUCTION

The setting is, outside of certain plots, a large Manor house. From the outside the house looks like a normal, yet large and extravagant mansion; however, it holds a great many curiousities about it. For one, there is something ominous about it. Perhaps it's because it almost resembles old asylums, or maybe because it just about fits every stereotypical haunted house to ever grace the wonders of television. For another, the floor plan inside is absolutely impossible. Floors don't match in size or shape, hallways go on far longer than they should. The house is far larger on the inside than it looks on the outside, not to mention curious cases of rooms and hallways inexplicably moving, switching places, or disappearing altogether as though the house cannot remember what it is supposed to have in it, or where it is supposed to be kept. The only door to the outside are a large set of double doors in the front of the house; of course it's not like one can't simply just jump out the windows a pinch... just be sure to mind how far up the window is, just in case the house forgot what floor you're on.

The interior has the same feeling as the exterior. It's grand, a bit cliche, with the ominous overtone not unlike that of an Alfred Hitchcock movie; central halls, several common rooms, communal restrooms, a kitchen and dining room, a grand ballroom, and of course- wings where the unwilling occupants reside. Just down a short road from the manor are several outbuildings, including a classroom, a garage, a courthouse, a haunted playground and a clinic building, as well as a number of unused buildings. Many of these buildings have fallen into a state of disrepair as previous occupants who maintained them have vanished.

The area around the Manor covers a large amount of land, a mile or two in any direction, occupied with gardens, fields, and many other wonders that can change from time to time. There's a lake on one side, and a thick forest outside the lawns. Past the forest to the east is a desert area with a general store in it that restocks itself weekly, though not always with anything useful. To the west, past the forest is a beach area with ocean.

If a character goes far enough out into the "ocean", they find themselves returned closer to shore, not matter how they travel. In every other direction, the outer boundary of the "grounds" suddenly stops in a semi-visible opaque white barrier - the Fourth Wall - which isn't visible until someone is within about 30 yards of it; from further away, there's a sort of "illusion" effect that looks like forest and further wilderness scenery, and sky above. The Fourth Wall extends down as far as any character could dig, and up as far as anyone could fly; presumably there's something blocking it off on the top somewhere past "orbit".
