And the note: Time travel doesn't work very well here; the timeline and general reality isn't real stable. The main limit is that it's limited to the duration of the current plot; trying to either jump or send someone before runs into the instability, and going ahead hits a wall of "existence here hasn't decided what it's supposed to be yet, pending". Basically trying to go too far either way will fail, and he's free to pick up on what kind of "fail" it was.

The second limit's basically just an IC effect to cover permissions; he's always welcome to try IC'ly, with or without OOC permission, it'll just fizzle if there's an OOC reason to not want it to work.

Also if he tries to teleport past the boundaries of the Manor grounds or area of the plot in effect, he'll find himself back at his room/tent/start point/whatever passes.

As far as the IC effect to cover permissions is concerned, is it alright to change that effect up depending on what Gabriel's trying to do. For instance, if he's trying to alter someone's appearance, can it backfire onto him, and then later, if he tries something else, can it have a different effect?

Appearance: Tall, pale-skinned gentleman, slenderly built while still muscular. He has longish black hair that is partially in his face and partially kept in a ponytail and dark red eyes that will glow pinkish-red at will. Sebastian can always be found wearing a full suit with a tail coat, black shoes and white gloves.

Abilities: Has acute senses far greater than those of humans, and possesses super-human strength and speed. Sebastian can shape-shift, though he generally keeps one to one form--especially if he is in a contract. He has an impressive memory, is extremely perceptive, and highly knowledgeable. Is also able to make things appear out of nothing, such as clothing or food. He is fairly indestructible by normal means, able to regenerate his physical body fairly easily and move even when shot or stabbed. As a demon, he can also create contracts with other beings--generally humans--and lend them whatever they need for a price. Unlike most demons, he can travel between dimensions and timelines (however, he is unable to pass through the fourth wall.)

Personality: He can be polite, even-handed, and easy to get along with, and is an all-around people-pleaser. While Sebastian can and will act like a gentleman, this is nothing of his truest nature. He is spiteful, cruel, manipulative, clever, and proud; however, he will suppress this while under contract. Sebastian is not necessarily the quickest to anger, but annoying him is a simple task. When irritated or amused, more of his true nature will leak out. He is also rather curious, leading him to seek secrets and information not meant for him.
Depending on the contract, he will alter his personality and actions the please whatever master he is with.

Strengths: He is capable in most physical feats, from immense strength to keen eyesight. His cunning and quick thinking are used in combination with his powerful body to preform tasks that seem like miracles. Sebastian's fluctuating nature allows him to handle most any situation with ease, and his ability to manipulate situations has saved him on more than one occasion.

Weaknesses: Sebastian has the obnoxious ability to push other people's buttons, all with a smile on his face. Though he is quite aware of what is beyond acceptable, he will continue to prod to the point of cruelty. His curiosity has also landed him in trouble several times, as he pursues that knowledge rather doggedly some times. Despite his powerful body, he is limited like all daemons--that is, weakened, detained, and injured by things like salt, sage, holy water and other protective religious symbols (however, he has, on several occasions, walked straight into a church). Depending on the contract, he will endanger himself for his contractor. His pride is also debilitating, forcing him to strive for perfection that he on occasion cannot achieve.

History: As a younger daemon he was more primal, eating whatever souls he came across. He would roam from place to place, spreading discord and stealing what souls he could, making the occasional contract. Over time, his palate shifted, and he became pickier about his diet. Because of this, he would go long periods of time without food.

Sebastian has had a few major contractors of note, from different cultures and times.

Around 100 BCE, he contracted a human named Spartacus, aiding him in return for the man's soul. The terms of that contract did not require that Sebastian protect Spartacus' life, and rather specified that he help the army learn to fight the Roman armies, aid in combat, and gather/report any important information that may help the slave army against the Romans.

During the early 1600s to the mid 1800s, Sebastian served under Zacharias Hildebran, a clockmaker, in Germany. In exchange for helping the man achieve immortality through machinery, he said that if the man were ever to fail, he would take Zacharias' soul. Though Hildebran was able to stave off death due to technology for nearly 200 years, he replaced so much of himself that he could not longer be considered a living being, and Sebastian reclaimed his reward.

In the late 1800s, Sebastian found himself in the employ of a young earl, Ciel Phantomhive. It is from this child that he received his current name, Sebastian Michaelis. Under the command of this child, he came into close brushes with several Grim Reapers, angels, other vicious daemons, and even men of such faith that he had trouble fighting them. Ciel, working directly for Queen Victoria, was constantly throwing himself into danger, causing the daemon under his employ more than a world of trouble.

After a particularly nasty run in with a spider daemon that nearly bound Sebastian to Ciel's service forever, Sebastian was able to learn the art of inter-dimensional travel. He used this ability to dodge his fate of eternal servitude and complete his contract with Ciel, after which he refused to take any contracts with no pre-determined time limit.

Once free, he took to roaming various dimensions, looking for a way to travel through time as well.

First Person Sample:
[The feed is silent, trained on the dark ceiling. After a while, the gentle sound of moving cloth is heard, the the scene shifts ever so slightly, so that the camera catches a glimpse of a black-haired man. He looks around before his crimson eye falls upon the device recording him.]

Hm....

[He muses a bit, putting his knuckle to his lips as he eyes the device. Slowly, he picks up the device, inspecting it thoroughly. Once he is finished looking over it, he sets it back down before looking around the room he has woken up in.]

I wonder where the master of this place is?

Third Person Sample:
Sebastian took another look around the room. It was just as sparse as his room had been under Phantomhive's employ, with only necessities. Unlike that room, however, was the multitude of cat memorabilia. Several posters were on the wall, figures stood on the end table, and on the desk was a 'beckoning cat' figure.

The daemon strode over to the desk, noting the pair of immaculate white gloves and brightly polished pocket watch siting next to the cat. Gently, he picked up the watch, his thumb running over the embossed Phantomhive emblem.

"What is this place?" he murmured, pocketing the watch and slipping on the gloves. There was no way this was the earl's estate, it smelled completely different. With ease, the daemon paced over to the closet, opening it to find two changes of clothes--dress shirts and vests. One pair of shoes lurked in the bottom of the closet.

Sebastain put everything away neatly, closing the closet door and glancing about the room. In a flash, he tidied the bed, and took meticulous care to have everything just so before turning towards the door.
He took one last glance around the room, double-checking that everything was in place before opening the door and slipping out into the hall. As he closed the door, Sebastian noticed the gleaming plaque that was engraved with his name. The daemon let out a small, exasperated sigh.

"It appears I will be stuck with this name for a little longer, doesn't it?"

Notes:
This Sebastian's backstory is a mix of both the anime and manga. It uses more of the manga's history, but ends with the second season of the anime. Also, his ability to travel between dimensions came from the reaper Grell (And Sebby doesn't like to talk about what he had to do to learn).

(On a more personal note, I'm not quite used to this style of RPing *that is, the first-person as apposed to third-person* so any help I could get on that would be appreciated!)
